Air-powered Abrasive Belt Machine Replaces Hand Filing and Sanding

The Dynafile abrasive belt machine grinds, deburrs, blends, and finishes normally inaccessible areas on metal, plastic, fiberglass, and other composites. Applications include light corner weld removal and blending of welds. The abrasive belt tracking system built into every machine provides trouble-free operation. More than 30 different interchangeable contact arms are available. The Dynafile uses coated abrasive belts 1/2", 1/4", or 1/8" wide by 24" long. Non-woven nylon and cloth polishing belts are also available. The 20,000 rpm tool weighs 3 lb. The lightweight, composite housing reduces vibration and is thermally insulated to prevent cold air transmission to the operator’s hands. The air motor is also adjustable to the most comfortable throttle lever position.

Brushes for In-machine Deburring

Internal deburring brushes are designed to increase productivity of in-machine deburring in CNC machining centers. The brushes remove all burrs found at intersecting holes and other internal edges of the work-piece and can also be used for bore finishing applications. They remove internal edge burrs and have ten times more filament density than tube brushes, letting them remove well-attached burrs. The brushes can operate at a high rpm and rotate in both directions. Off-hand deburring is eliminated, resulting in a decrease of direct labor content and an increase in part-to-part consistency. Available in sizes ranging from 3/4" to 4" in either wire or abrasive nylon filament, the brushes can be adapted for use in end mill holders or can be mounted using 3/8" collets.

Quick-change Abrasive Discs Reach into Corners

A line of quick-change cotton fiber abrasive discs feature layered construction and reportedly last up to 25 times longer than resin fiber discs. They feature multiple layers of non-woven cotton fiber that are impregnated with abrasive grains and then pressed and bonded into flexible discs, exposing new abrasives as they work. These flexible discs can blend and finish corners using their face and edge. Suited for stainless steel, aluminum, and exotic metals. They are available with Roloc and Sockatt style fasteners in 1", 1-1/2", 2", and 3" sizes, in various grits and bonds.

External Thread Grinder With Linear Motors and Auto Loader Options

Equipped for production thread grinding of parts from 1mm to10mm in diameter up to 100mm long, The GS:TEM MINI Thread Grinder is designed for higher volume, precision threaded parts manufacturers. It is available with linear motor or ball screw axes, as well as with a robot loader using pallets. A pallet changer lets the machine run unattended for three shifts. Other features include forming and cutting tap software, a small diameter – 200mm – wheel and a low-mass wheel axis, which provides control of the shape of a form tap’s lobes and relief. The machine works with grinding thread rolls, thread gages, worms, ball screws, e-steering components, aerospace fasteners, and surgical bone screws. It is equipped with a diamond roll contour dresser for dressing complex topping and non-topping wheel forms including full radius and gothic arch; acme with crest and root radii or chamfers; as well as 60°, Whitworth, ISO, buttress, and other thread forms. It comes equipped with PartSmart menu-driven software with parts pre-programmed into its system. No programming knowledge is needed. The MINI can be integrated into manufacturing cells. At 1.2m×1.8m and 3,000 kg, the MINI can be moved around the shop via forklifts.

Machine Marks 600 Parts Per Hour

The 860MF stand-alone, air-powered, roll marking machine marks up to 48 1/16" characters along the length of various diameter heater tube elements with tube diameters of 0.260", 0.315", and 0.475", in lengths from 20" to 144". Tube wall thickness can be 0.028" or 0.032". Tubing material includes stainless steel, Incoloy, and copper. The machine includes a heavy-duty steel weldment base to which the Standard Model 860 A22 roll marking unit is bolted. This unit has a minimum marking pressure of 565 lb and a maximum of 2,260 lb. It features a cast iron framework to which is mounted the 2" stroke air-ram cylinder; a 3-1/2" adjustable internal die slide that provides the rolling action for the round marking tool; and a cast iron, T-slotted, adjustable table for mounting the various tube fixtures. Outrigger supports for the various tube lengths provided, as well as dovetail quick-change – 30 seconds or less – tooling for the different roll marking assemblies. The machine also includes dual, anti tie-down, anti-repeat palm buttons, and a plug-and-play air system package that includes filter, regulator, pressure gage, lubricator, and shut-off/lockout valve. Depth of marks range from 0.003" to 0.008" depending on the material being marked. Production rate for tube elements is 1,000 per day. The machine is capable of marking 600 parts per hour.
