Silicon Beware
Tri-Mark Metalloy Vantage and Metalloy Vantage Ni1 gas-shielded metal-cored wires include technology that reduces silicon island formation and produces weld bead toe lines that are almost completely free of silicon deposits. The Vantage wire is ideal for single- or multi-pass welding on carbon steel applications, including those in the railcar, automotive, heavy equipment manufacturing, and general fabrication industries. The Ni1 wire is designed for welding nickel-molybdenum steel. It excels on applications that require higher toughness when joining high-strength low-alloy or weathering steels where color match is not necessary. These include applications in the structural steel market and the manufacturing of large light and electric transmission poles. The Vantage wires both create low spatter levels. They are available in a wide variety of packages and diameters, and both wires offer additional features that minimize rework and cleanup, including improved wetting action, excellent gap bridging, and good sidewall fusion. Increased travel speeds and high deposition rates also help improve productivity. Both Vantage wires are recommended for single- and multi-pass welding in flat and horizontal positions using 75 to 95 percent Argon with a balance of CO2.

Micro-abrasive Blaster has Improved Flow Consistency
The AccuFlo blaster is a micro-abrasive blaster that deburrs, cleans, and textures small parts. It is the first abrasive blaster to be equipped with the Simoom Technology – an innovative system of mixing air and abrasive to improve flow consistency. The result is tighter control over the volume of powder flowing through the machine, which gives it the flexibility to be used in a wider range of applications. It also increases the powder flow to cut processing times on traditional ones. The blaster also features an ergonomically designed handpiece that has less wear points for longer life. A larger media tank features a clear top for easy checking of the powder level, and easy-to-read LCD counters keep track of blast cycles and hours of use, providing simple milestones for maintenance. An open design with color-coded air lines and connectors facilitate regular maintenance.

Saw Blade Simplifies Cutting Steel
A line of Cermet-tipped circular blades that come in a variety of models: the CTC-1000, CSM-1000, CSS-1000, and ColdCut-1000. They are high performance saw blades that let most metal – mild steel, aluminum, stainless steel, and other hard materials – be cut faster and with less material loss due to kerf.
The tooth material and design lets stainless steel and other hard materials be
cut with a finished edge. They work ideally with high production cold saw
machines, standard cold saw machines, and chop saws.

Heavy Metal
CNC machining centers have a titanium and nickel alloy airframe. The 4- and 5-axis horizontal machining centers range from 20" to 60" square pallets. All the machines are designed for highest volumetric accuracy and stiffness for precision components. The beds use a patented cast metal for rigidity and thermal stability. Hand scraping is used to achieve the geometrical requirements now being demanded by progressive energy equipment manufacturers. A variety of milling spindles are available, from ultra high torque geared units – essential for cutting tough materials in low rpm, high frequency machining – to high-speed, direct-drive spindles for super finish applications. These machines are capable of handling large bending moments at the tool taper interface up to 35,000 in-lb to increase productivity in roughing operations and stability in finishing operations.

This Hold Will Stick
The OTT-JAKOB power drawbar for toolholding has power-off clamping, intensified spring force, and a compact design with minimal rotating mass. It has no load on spindle bearings during tool change, and minimal force is required for tool release. Gripper fingers hold the cutting tool securely in the spindle taper and a spring force applied to the clamping sleeve pushes the balls outward. The angle design of the clamping ring and cylinder shoulder increases the spring force 300 percent. Loss or reduction in hydraulic pressure will not release the tool because the power-off design requires pressure applied to the hydraulic piston and transmitted through the rod to push the clamping sleeve down.

Coolant Cleaners Notably Decrease Machine Wear
Magnetic coolant cleaners provide extraction of ferrous particles for grinding and metal-cutting operations. These powerful ceramic and rare-Earth magnetic coolant cleaners extend life of coolant, cutting tools, grinding wheels, pumps, and filtering devices. Radial-design magnetic circuits extract ferrous particles to help meet tolerances and improve surface finish. They are designed for use with all types of grinders, honing and lapping machines, milling and drilling machines, and oil reclaiming machines. A variety of models are available. Permanent ceramic magnetic indexing units, available with either a smooth-faced or extended-pole roll, can be used when both ferrous and non-ferrous contaminants are present. Non-indexing models are for applications where little or no non-magnetic contaminants are present in the coolant. The ceramic magnetic coolant cleaners are rugged; they are available in several sizes and can handle up to 600 gpm of water-soluble coolant. Xtractor rare-Earth coolant cleaner uses a powerful magnetic field, designed to maximize removal of fine ferrous particles from coolant. Available in four sizes, the unit will handle up to 120 gpm of water-soluble coolant. All coolant cleaner models can be installed on new or existing machines to provide years of maintenance-free operation.
