Walter's new Vision Laser: State-of-the-art laser processing for brazed diamond tools

UNITED GRINDING Group has released the latest offering in its WALTER tool making and measuring line: the VISION LASER.

This new product offers innovative laser technology suited for a range of applications for brazed tools.

The machine design is based on the HELITRONIC VISION platform, known for its reliability across decades.

The laser technology used offers industry-proven reliability for the precise and efficient laser processing of tools with high quality requirements.

Versatility in application

The VISION LASER offers all options for processing, including PCD, CVD, MKD and carbide. Its industrial laser system allows for a range of applications, chip- and crack-free cutting edges, machining of complex geometries and operation without consumables.

More beneficial than wire erosion

Until now, wire erosion has been the standard in the production of brazed PCD tools. This comes with notable disadvantages, including the consumption of materials such as wires and coolant, plus the risk of grain breakage and limitations in the production of complex geometries.

But with the VISION LASER, production is done in just one clamp, cutting speed is high, materials are processed seamlessly, and optimal surface finish is achieved, according to the company.

Familiar software

On top of these benefits, the software -- GTR ProfDia Laser -- is similar to GTR ProfDia Erosion. This widely-used wire EDM software gives GTR-experienced users an easy transition into the operation of the VISION LASER.
