CNC Surface Grinder's Highly Rigid Spindle Produces High-Precision Accuracy

The KGS-42CNC is a new CNC surface grinder from Kent. It features a high-rigidity spindle with precision angular contact ball bearings that is seen as ideal for high-precision grinding.

According to the manufacturers, all the castings including base, table, saddle, column and headstock are well-ribbed to provide stable grinding accuracy.

The highly rigid spindle fitted with precision angular contact ball bearings is said to provide excellent performance in high-precision grinding.

An accurate and smooth feed is ensured by the X-axis with SP-grade heavy-preloaded precision linear guides, the C3-grade ball screw and the Fanuc servo-drive. The Y- and Z-axes are reportedly driven with a minimum increment capacity of 0.001 mm. The dresser is mounted on the right side of the table and a pneumatically controlled swivel dresser can also be used. Auto surface grinding cycles and dressing cycles with compensation are standard.

The integrated Fanuc controller with the latest color LCD enables the input of grinding data via dialog pages on the panel with various profile grinding modes. The semi-enclosed housing with a safety lock serves to shield the operator from potential dangers.
