New Cutting Laser Lenses Designed for Heavy Steel Plate

A new line of ZnSe laser focusing lenses that come in various focal lengths for 200 W to 4 kW CO2 cutting lasers processing heavy steel plate has been introduced by Laser Research Optics of Providence, Rhode Island.

Laser Research ZnSe Focusing Lenses feature focal lengths from 3" to 10" in 0.5" increments and are designed to let users select the best lens for their laser cutting application. These CO2 lenses are offered with a proprietary Cool-Cut™ coating which absorbs less than 0.15 percent of laser energy to protect against heat damage or with standard A/R coatings providing less than 0.2 percent total absorption.

Optimized for 10.6 microns, Laser Research ZnSe Focusing Lenses are offered in 1" to 2" O.D. sizes with thicknesses ranging from 0.250" to 0.380" and come in plano-convex and -meniscus configurations and can be supplied plain or mounted. These CO2 lenses are suited for OEMs and field-replacement.
